Julie Dennis - Hot Flush Freedom
Julie Dennis hit her rock bottom moment when she decided to stop taking HRT and manage her menopause symptoms naturally. She was shocked to learn that HRT had only postponed her menopause and exhausted by the onslaught of symptoms that hit her.
Determined to feel better she decided to find out all she could about menopause and find a drug free solution that worked for her.
Now Julie is on a mission to make menopause helps busy professional women cool down, calm down and break through the brain fog of menopause.
She also enjoys working with forward thinking organisations making it easy to introduce the right menopause policies and practices into their business.
Julie's wise words from this show - "Even though the menopause is a complex time it's not complicated to get control of your symptoms I think that's what's really important to know. There's so much confusing and conflicting information out there about what you should or shouldn't be doing in order to get control of your symptoms. But it's actually pretty straightforward and that's what I really want women to understand too that you don't have to make massive changes you just need to consider making small lifestyle changes and you'll immediately start to feel better."
What emotional strength means to Julie - "Well I think emotional strength or emotional resilience really is about knowing yourself and until you know yourself and until you accept yourself it's very difficult to be strong or resilient because you're resisting all the time instead.
So I think the first step is to really get to know yourself. You need to check in with yourself into your thoughts to really understand what it is that you want. Once you know yourself and you accept you for what you are I think that's when you become much more emotionally resilient and more emotionally strong and you're much better able to deal with what's going on around you. You can accept that emotions are a natural part of human life human behaviour and sometimes they overflow. And that's why we cry, that's why we get angry. That's why we laugh hysterically sometimes but emotions are just part of us and we just need to accept them."
